About Optional Celibacy

For a world with more love

The catholic celibacy refers not to the marriage of change to devote himself entirely to religious services. This practice is applied between the clerics and it was imposed in the XII century by pope Calixtus II with the aim of enriching the Church, as well as give themselves freely to God, being always free to take on missions and charges.

However, the celibacy of the catholic has motivated a large number of situations alarming as a consequence of sexual abstinence and celibacy of the consecrated. Example of this are abuses, demonstrating that a sexuality blocked and repressed, as a consequence, different criminal activities, unhealthy and sinful.

Currently, there are no indications that the catholic Church to modify this rule, ignoring the alarming situation that currently live in your own catholic community. Likewise, considering the pleas of the community, Pope Francis reported the following:

What is a dogma of faith?

The dogmas of the faith are all those rules or norms that the Church considers to be the “absolute truths”, which must be accepted and cannot be modified. Likewise, Pope Francis has recently accepted that, to not be a dogma of faith, can be modified.

About our cause

It is because of this that today we fight in favor of optional catholic celibacy, in which the ordained have the possibility to choose and to live freely, devoted to God, without neglecting their own needs for affection, and a healthy co-existence with their loved ones.

Help us to put an end to the celibacy of the catholic and let us fight together for a world with more love, where all are worthy of to live and enjoy life with those we love the most.
